  • Are your earrings hypoallergenic?
Technically yes, but I do not want to misrepresent my materials. If you are allergic to Nickel or 304 Stainless Steel, please contact me and I can swap out the findings with Titanium and Nobium for an extra charge as these are a higher cost. This may delay your shipment depending on what I have in stock and will require a custom piece for stud earrings. If you would like to learn more about why I have chosen to use 304 Stainless Steel, continue reading. _________________________________________________________________________ Upon choosing suppliers, I did a lot of research into which earring fittings would be best for my customers health, budget and longevity of each piece. I have opted to use 304 stainless steel for my jewellery as it is highly resistant to many issues that affect other base metals, such as tarnish and corrosion, and will last a lifetime if cared for correctly. Sterling silver and anything with copper turn my ears green, and other materials tarnish and oxidize, so this also went into my decision to use stainless steel. A large proportion of metal allergies are specifically linked to nickel. After researching surgical steel (316) I was surprised to see that there was a higher % of nickel. A break down is as follows: 304: 18% chromium and 8% nickel 316: 16% chromium, 10% nickel and 2% molybdenum. Technically, 304 stainless steel can qualify as hypoallergenic (meaning: low risk of causing an allergic reaction), but I do not want to misrepresent my materials or cause anyone to have a reaction. Nickel in 304 stainless steel it is bonded to other elements in the alloy and generally won't affect the skin. Using 304 Stainless Steel makes my earrings hypoallergenic, and I have conducted independent Nickel swab tests myself to ensure all components are below 10 ppm (parts/million). The sensitivity threshold of most nickel allergic patients is above 11 ppm. __________________________________________________________________________ If you have a high sensitivity to nickel or have an allergic reaction to stainless steel, please get in touch before you place your order.
  • How do I need to care of my jewellery?
As with all handmade jewellery, please handle with care. While I do apply a top non-toxic sealer, this does not make them waterproof. Please remove prior to bathing or swimming and keep away from perfume and lotions. If possible, keep your pieces flat in a jewellery box to avoid scratches. Please keep earrings and earring backs away from children. If you have ordered studs, I have included butterfly backs and rubber backs so you can choose your preference - plus it's always good to have a spare :) When putting on and removing backs, please be careful as to not ruin the earring or pull off the earring post. How to put on butterfly back earrings: 1. Hold the front part of the earring. 2. Gently push the back towards the post. How to remove butterfly back earrings: 1. Hold the post of the earring. 2. Firmly pull the butterfly back until it comes off the post.
  • Will there be colour and symmetry variances in my jewellery?
Due to the handmade nature of the jewellery I create, each piece is unique and no piece is perfect and the beauty of handmade is in the imperfection. I try to ensure there are multiple product shots so if there are variances, you can easily identify them. Colours may be different in real life due to monitor settings.
  • How do you package your products?
How your order is packaged will depend on the size of your order and the distance your purchase has to travel! Your order will come well packaged to ensure no breakage on the journey from me to you. I like all my customers to feel like they are opening a gift when they purchase from me, so I do take pride in my packaging. If your item is a gift for someone, send me an email at hello@littlered.shop after you have placed your order and I can add in a gift card for you. Where possible, I re-use materials from my suppliers, which keeps costs down for you and is also better for the environment! To date, I have not had to purchase bubble wrap, I have been able to re-use it where needed :)
  • Can I return my products?
For hygenic reasons, unless your goods arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns. Please see the shipping and returns policy.
  • What if my jewellery gets damaged, scratched, the earring back falls off or something else happens after I wear it?
Accidents happen - and I completely understand this! If your jewellery gets damaged, get in touch and I can either explain how you can fix it or can sort something out for you. My jewellery is handmade, so despite using a liberal amount of glue for studs, the backs can sometimes fall off over time - especially if they have come into contact with water. If this happens, you can either super glue it back on, or send it back to me and I can repair it. If your resin dulls or gets a scratch, you can use polish (everyone usually has some polish handy) and give your piece a buff.
